Pension Vouching

Pension vouching work is carried out in this office to ensure that the correct pension is being disbursed by the Pension Disbursing Authorities (PDAs), i.e. Banks and Post Offices, as per entitlement of the Pensioners.
In case of over-payment or underpayment by PDAs, the matter is immediately taken up with the concerned Branch or Post office, as the case may be, for rectification of the error. During 2009-2010, this office has observed 36 cases of overpayment in which more than 10 lakh rupees have been recovered. So far, we have not been able to vouch 100 percent transactions; however, efforts are being made to complete the work with 100 percent vouching. For this Banks and Post offices are being requested to provide soft copies of the transactions details for payment made by them in respect of Telecom pensioners so that greater accuracy could be achieved and faster reconciliation be made in all the transactions. The issue of shortage of staff is expected to be resolved shortly as steps are being taken by the Headquarters at their level.
